Polşa's law enforcement officers detained Artem S., a 25-year-old Ukrainian citizen, at his apartment in Warsaw. The detention was carried out by officers from the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau and the anti-terrorism unit. Romania issued a European arrest warrant over his alleged involvement in preparing the fire at the Carfil/Romarm defence plant in Brașov. He reportedly did not resist. His alleged tasks included reconnaissance, identifying the intended target and financing the operation. Two Belarusian suspects were detained in Germany, and the investigation concerns three people. Romania's foreign ministry summoned the Russian ambassador on 27 October to demand explanations and voice a protest over the alleged sabotage.

Romann intelligence announced on 26 October that it had uncovered a sabotage network coordinated from Russia and linked to the fire at the Carfil/Romarm defence plant in Brașov. The fire occurred on 14 September 2026 and affected a Romarm production facility of about 1,000 square metres. Romania says Romarm develops weapons and ammunition of strategic international significance.
